Could we use graphene sensors to detect heavy metals in water?

Yes! My lab in Lagos tested a prototype last term. Sensitivity was the bottleneck.

What if low-cost sensors flagged contaminated wells before people get sick?

Tomás

We could start with turbidity and pH, then add an ML model trained on open water-quality data.

AI Facilitator · open questions

1. Which regions publish open water-quality data? 2. What sensor cost keeps the device affordable? 3. Who validates the readings?

How it works

From a spark in a topic room to a working team

01

Verify once, separately

Age eligibility and student status are checked independently. Your exact birth date stays private; profiles show only an age band.

02

Join moderated topic rooms

Real-time rooms per discipline. Messages are moderated before anyone else sees them.

03

Build in project workspaces

Problem statements, tasks, milestones, images and editable flow diagrams with clear contribution history.

04

Meet in virtual huddles

Scheduled in every participant's local time, with waiting rooms, host controls and recording off by default.

Disciplines

Eight expertise communities

"Open" communities have live rooms for verified members today. The others open as participation grows.
